Sometimes, Life Moves Forward on Slippery Slopes

To make a committed,
"scary" decision
the voices in our heads/hearts
are at odds:
to kick back
or venture forward.
There's no denying the fear
even if it's not "real"--
we still FEEL it.
I argue: "I don't want to do this.."
(liar, liar pants on fire)
OK. I DO want to do this
but it's SCARY!

How can I
go forward in comfort,
reassured that I'm making
the "right" decision?
Hmm...sometimes,
most times maybe,
I have to go forward
without that reassurance
that I "know" what I'm doing.
Go forward
WITH the fear.

Which still feels
like a risk to me..

but almost always
everything turns out
just fine.

I am rewarded
for trusting myself--
for learning  how
each time I make
a"scary" decision,

I'm better able
to rely on myself
to trust myself
all the while
weeding out
all that fear
in the process.

Bare Bones

Skinny and wiry,
the tree standing before me
is leafless.
Not a single leaf to be found
on its otherwise healthy "body".
Now, I KNOW the leaves
are coming back!!!
Although, even if I wanted to,
and tried with all my might,
I couldn't MAKE a single
leaf appear on my little tree
before its time--such is the
power of nature. Even if I could
fool her (it's not nice to..)
the futility of trying to is
very obvious and apparent to me.
So I accept what is
and accept the barren, bold
brazen, stark outline
of my little, now just sticks,
nakedness of a tree.
It is being just
as its supposed to be
at this time of the year--
not embarrassed at being
exposed--not even once
lamenting its leafless reality.

I go to School to Learn

I go to school to learn
and the kids teach me
what I've forgotten
and what's been
drummed out of me
by the older adults
in my life.
My schooling is
for free, in fact, I even
get paid for it!
What a deal!
But kids are taught
to be intimidated by
authority (figures)--
to respect them--
at the expense of their
own soul, their own
innate wisdom.
It's a sad thing.
We're raising robotic
children to obey
and never question
or even begin
to think
(and to speak)
for themselves.
Such a travesty.
I go to school to learn
and the kids teach me:
love, kindnesss,
gentleness, caring,
enthusiasm,
curiosity, exploring,
delight in the wonder
of discovery.
I am so blessed!

Turning Over a New Leaf

I want to know the answers
to life's mysteries
to delve into truth
and bathe in its essence.
Who dictates the morals
of humanity?
How must we balance
humane, kind behavior
with our past
egregious errors?
Being willing to change--
to say we were mistaken
but we didn't know how
to do it any better.
Our egos will protest
Our pride will feel
miffed, possibly.
But did our life work before?
Let's yield to the new
energies which are here
on earth to help speed us
on our way to a new
planet in every aspect.
Then maybe the mysteries
will resolve themselves
in our new state of
heaven on earth--the
experience, not just the
aspiration.

Coffee Enema

Nothing brings me relief like a coffee enema.  Nothing, at this point in my life, even comes close.  There are other things I enjoy and may even feel an immense "high" from, but can't touch the coffee enema.
We live in a highly toxic world, no denying that.  Some activities I engage in move the toxins in my body around and prepare them for exiting my body either then or later.  But the coffee enema pretty much does a complete dumping at the time I do it.  I know.  I  FEEL it.  Gone.  Whatever was there is not there anymore and I feel great!
I must also preface this with the fact of my adherence to a pretty healthy and very cleansing, mostly rawfood diet.   For instance, as blogged previously, I have increased my proportion of raw fruit intake and fruits are VERY cleansing just in themselves.
But even without this cleansing regime, the coffee enema still works wonders.  We all have metabolic wastes and we "swim" in a sea of toxins daily, especially if we live in or anywhere near a city.
So this is my statement for now on this wonderful "legal" high I give myself almost daily.

Nothing I've ever tried, and I've tried bunches of things in my lifetime, even comes close to the relief a coffee enema provides.

The Money Storm

It was raining/snowing sleeting hundred dollar bills the other day as I was on my way home.  To keep from being pummeled by these 100's I had to wait until the storm was over before I collected all the green papers littering my property.
Funny it only came down on me mainly because I asked for it.. and believed it could happen.  hmm...why had I not believed so strongly before as to create such a Downpour of wealth?  No matter.  It's coming now and it's what I want, and feel I deserve.
Raining 100's.
What a concept.
Let's get the snow plows out and unplug the gutters.  It doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon.

My Summertime Fruit Experiment

This summer I decided (actually backed my way in--inch by inch) to see how a high carb (fruit) low fat vegan diet would serve me. I was already vegan--but eating lots of fatty desserts I homemade myself--energy bars with dried fruits and lots of nuts and seeds.  I also had unlimited (vegan) fats-- avocados, olives, and oils, etc. But now I would be getting my calories from carbs (fruit) instead of the fatty fruits, nuts and oils.
Well, it was slow going at first getting used to less fat and all the sweet going into my mouth in the form of fresh fruit all day. But I felt light and had good energy and a clear mind most of the day until the detox set in. Not only is fruit is very cleansing, being the most nutritious per calorie source of carbs on the planet, raw food in general is also very cleansing.. It seems my organs of elimination, mainly the liver, couldn't keep up with all those toxins going into my blood circulation for removal. So I wasn't feeling so cool at that point.

Since I had been on a cleansing routine for several years, I decided to initiate one aspect of that--which was a coffee enema--and voila, my detox symptoms vanished completely.  Even beyond that, I was feeling more excellent than I could even describe here as has been after every coffee enema I've ever done.  This quote highlights the improved well-being felt:
"In fact, many...patients have reported a dramatic increase in energy and improved outlook after a coffee enema, presumably because of the elimination of toxins from the bloodstream, cells, and liver.  The procedure appears to calm and soothe the nervous system, dispelling nausea, irritability, lethargy, lack of appetite, and sometimes even severe pain." (from OPTIONS - The Alternative Cancer Therapy Book (1993) by Richard Walters).

I eat mostly raw foods (80%).  I have been allowing for low fat cooked carbs--rice, potatoes etc., with my salad and other cooked veggies for dinner. This keeps the total detox for the day at a reasonably comfortable level.  Still this is a healing, cleansing diet.  While I'm not sittting back pigging out on unhealthy food choices all day, I am pushing my body to a new and healthier level--not a walk in the park but not excruciatingly painful either.

So along with daily, vigorous exercse--I like to run--to keep my circulation peaked and functioning optimally--I feel good.  I don't feel deprived at all (except for when I choose to have the evening cooked food meal to slow down toxin elimination--and some days I can go totally raw, comfortably).
I would prefer to be 100% "living foods" because I know how I've felt previously  when I've done that for a period of time.  But I have to work with the detox, and know when it comes on strong, it's an indication that not only do we live in a very toxic world these days but that also I've more than likely made many less than wise dietary and lifestyle choices in my life, depositing many toxins in the place I live 24/7--my body.  So I take this healthy lifestyle at a pace I can live with and still make substantial changes in my quality of life.

Adventure

Adventure almost presupposes

blindness and uncertainty

to the next

corner you turn.

What fun!

To not know

what's next!

To trust

it will be

for the good

of all.

Sooo...

off to see and experience

in every sense

the adventure of today

with a smiling face

and a beaming heart!

Arose

The day is a blank page

I choose

how I want to fill it

or leave it blank-

it's my page.

Maybe I will pick a flower;

that seems to appeal to

me now.

Yes, a  flower would be nice-

scented fragrance

of beauty and softness

its only purpose in life-

is to give me joy.

The Date

The one you go on, not eat

is what I'm interested in

at the moment.

Connection.

Collaboration.

Sex!

I open myself to another

and expect the same

reciprocally.

I cast my line...

see if I can hook

a lunker...
